NIMMA is the only organisation that provides support for those in or
contemplating a mixed marriage in Northern Ireland.

Although mixed marriage in Northern Ireland is a union between
two people belonging to different Churches, it is also a cross-
community relationship. It brings two families together, who
otherwise may not mix, and often will refuse to mix, to the sorrow
of the couple, who often need counselling about this.

But ,the mixed couple have to live somewhere, and this involves
communities, and housing estates.   This couple rarely want to be involved
in inter-community politics, or to try and change society. They just want to
get on with the life that they have chosen, quietly and peaceably.
This point of view needs to be advanced, to make sure that it is heard in all the
places where it will matter to the couple; in the Churches, in "housing,
in schooling, and in the general acceptance of their partner by the other
community .

Why are those of another religion a threat if they live in the same street?
What has to be done to remove the threat of mixed couples on housing estates?
These, and other like questions are those that must be asked in our society.
