GUIDELINES FOR PASTORAL COUNCIL MEMBERSHIP

 

 

The Pastoral Council and it's membership should:

 

 

•     be willing to learn and be open to change.

 

•     be able to look ahead beyond what is possible in the present.

 

•     be caring in general attitude and approach towards people.

 

•     value and support teamwork.

 

•     be keen to build up and preserve the unity of the parish.

 

•     keep prayer at the centre of all activity.

 

•     have common sense.


•     aim to enable and involve others, by having a committed but detached attitude to
       roles and tasks in the parish, (not holding on to them as personal property).

 

•     represent all the members of the parish, not just one part of it or one group within it.
      (i.e. be a representative group, not a group of representatives).


•     be aware and give a voice to those most easily neglected or overlooked in the parish.

 

•     have a heart for cross community activity and a desire for Christian unity.
