GUIDELINES FOR PASTORAL COUNCIL MEMBERSHIP
The Pastoral Council and it's membership should:
• be willing to learn and be open to change.
• be able to look ahead beyond what is possible in the present.
• be caring in general attitude and approach towards people.
• value and support teamwork.
• be keen to build up and preserve the unity of the parish.
• keep prayer at the centre of all activity.
• have common sense.
• aim to enable and involve others, by having a committed but detached attitude to
roles and tasks in the parish, (not holding on to them as personal property).
• represent all the members of the parish, not just one part of it or one group within it.
(i.e. be a representative group, not a group of representatives).
• be aware and give a voice to those most easily neglected or overlooked in the parish.
• have a heart for cross community activity and a desire for Christian unity.
